Join us on one of our walks in and around Middleton. Meeting at the Lighthouse Project on the top floor of Middleton shopping centre, we depart at 12 prompt to follow one of our routes. We like to vary the experience each week so one week we might take in Alkrington Woods, the next Wince Brook and another week what we call our Middleton heritage walk. We also occasionally take public transport to the outskirts of Middleton and walk back to the Lighthouse, taking in the green corridors and open spaces. Back at base the Lighthouse provides a light lunch (voluntary donation) and, having given our bodies a workout, we sometimes exercise our grey matter with a light- hearted quiz. We also have a t-shirt reward scheme as an extra incentive to keep coming every week! Walk & Talk Boroughwide Health Walks are short weekly walks designed for people who wish to gain the benefits of regular exercise, whilst talking to like minded people. Our advertised weekly 'rain or shine' walks are led by our valued team of very experienced Volunteer Walk Leaders. The health walks are free, friendly and fun. We have walks on each week day setting off at the same time and day each week, walking through woodlands, down country lanes and crossing open countryside. Your local Health Walks are provided by the Rochdale Living Well Service part of Big Life Centres, Rochdale. For more information see https://www.livingwellrochdale.com/.
